WATERPLACE CONDO – It’s All in the Details

Stairwell with glass railing

Just like single family homes, condos are also in constant need of updating in order to keep up with today’s growing real estate market.  Baby-boomers and young professionals alike are now more than ever searching for that perfect place to call home but without all of the maintenance and upkeep. With this in mind, our client came to Red House to have her 2-story condo, located in the heart of downtown Providence, remodeled.

Originally from Manila, this young doctor wanted a more open feel in her stairwell leading up to the second floor hallway in addition to creating a more contemporary feel in her guest bathroom.

A center wall was replaced with a glass railing making the stairwell feel more open and airy. Floor to ceiling picture frame molding was installed and continues throughout the second floor hallway. The walls and trim were painted a rich dark blue creating a classic and textured monochromatic look.  Brass and crystal door hardware and an oversized brass chandelier from Restoration Hardware was added for a perfect final touch.

In the guest bathroom, a large format field tile from Ann Sacks was used on the shower wall to create a seamless modern look. A dark brown wood-like tile in a herringbone pattern installed on the floor was paired with a white macaubas quartzite countertop, giving the space a very natural and calming feel.
